Establishment

Starting from year 2000 to 2002 with the sponsor of technical division of Economic Ministry, the Footwear and Recreation Research Institute (FRT) focused on the development and research of rehabilitation footwear and relating material application project. At the same period, the 3-D foot scanner equipment and footwear technique were applied to measure and design the special footwear for various types of foot shapes. In order to enhance the project effects and promote the social welfare development , in July, 2003 the FRT was supported by the Ministry of the Interior to establish “Foot Orthotics Resource & Promotion Center”. Its goal is to let handicap people aware the foot orthoses for its well being. Also it provides information for the medical community to gain access on the local foot orthoses manufacturing industries.
